Relocating to any area is difficult, not only because of the physical challenges of moving your home, but also because it can often be a daunting process getting information about an area, where to live, etc. If you are being relocated to Gulfport, MS or any of the surrounding areas, you are in luck.

Gulfport is home to the Naval Construction Battalion (SeaBees) with Keesler Air Force Base (KAFB) very nearby in Biloxi. Casinos are a driving force in the local economy as well as other tourist-based attractions. There are plenty of places to visit including the George Ohr museum and Walter Anderson museum. Plenty of fun for the little ones as well. Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is great for kids of all ages. The Gulfport MS real estate market has had its ups and downs but steadily performs high coast-wide. This month was a little slow with only 47 transactions closing in the past 30 days (54 the prior month), but things are looking better.

Out of the 47 closed units, it still looks like real estate investors are a driving force as a large portion of the sales (just over 40%) were under $50k, but what is interesting is that the $150k-$225k range performed decently at over 20% of closed transactions. The highest dollar home that closed was a waterfront home fronting Bernard Bayou for $615k.

English Manor in Gulfport MS is another subdivision that is close to just about everything. Roughly a mile from Crossroads shopping center, Best Buy, Cinemark movie theater, Factory Outlets, and numerous dining facilities, and even closer to the Gulfport Sportsplex and Gulf Islands Waterpark. This community, built by D.R. Horton, has extremely well-built homes at reasonable pricing.

Originally, these homes started out in the $150k-$200k range. This community started out with excellent cost per square foot cost, making the community one of the best valued properties available.
