Gulfport MS - Oaks down DrivewayRelocating to any area is difficult, not only because of the physical challenges of moving your home, but also because it can often be a daunting process getting information about an area, where to live, etc. If you are being relocated to Gulfport, MS or any of the surrounding areas, you are in luck.

Gulfport is home to the Naval Construction Battalion (SeaBees) with Keesler Air Force Base (KAFB) very nearby in Biloxi. Casinos are a driving force in the local economy as well as other tourist-based attractions. There are plenty of places to visit including the George Ohr museum and Walter Anderson museum. Plenty of fun for the little ones as well. Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is great for kids of all ages. Coupled with a great living environment, good people, and plenty of fishing/boating/beaches, what more could you ask for?

If you ask for more, Mobile, AL has plenty to offer in the way of arts and features, and who can miss New Orleans with plenty of adult entertainment as well as the Audubon Zoo and Aquarium. Both Mobile and New Orleans are roughly 1 hour from Gulfport so it is easy access without having to live there 🙂

If you are considering moving to Gulfport, Biloxi, or other coastal MS cities, or if you are being relocated here, please contact me for more information and discuss your needs. I will be happy to assist you in finding your perfect community. Of course, be sure to check out other posts on this site about the area – I strive to bring you as much information as possible on local areas.

Biloxi MS Military Relocation http://mscoastrealty.com/cities/biloxi/biloxi-ms-military-relocation/ http://mscoastrealty.com/cities/biloxi/biloxi-ms-military-relocation/#respond Sat, 05 Mar 2011 06:01:34 +0000 http://mscoastrealty.com/?p=106

Biloxi Water TowerHere we go – its time to move again. As a “military brat”, I remember how burdensome it could be to move every couple of years and I even remember the issues with buying and selling homes. Although I was to young to understand then, I am not now.

Military families have a hard time moving and buying a home in an unknown area can be very difficult. You have to know a lot about what you want, where you want to be, etc. The biggest problem though is not knowing if you will be able to sell your home fore more than you purchased it if you get orders somewhere else in 2-3 years.

Great news if you are PCS’ing to Biloxi. You can have a friend in the business. As a real estate investment analyst, I am able to help you look at purchases not only from social standpoints, but also from a potential of appreciation. Biloxi, historically, offers very good appreciation even in slower economies because of strong economic engines which include KAFB, NCBC, ship building and other government contracts, tourism, and casinos. Biloxi also has some of the most undervalued real estate in the country. Not being effected by skyrocketing prices like other waterfront cities, there is still a lot of room for homes to appreciate in value.

There is no catch-all community for military families, but there are numerous which have a high dominance of military families. This is partially because of easy access to the base(s), proximity to shopping, and schools.

If you are relocating to or from Biloxi, please contact me and let me help you buy or sell your home.
