The Diamondhead MS Condo market a suffered much like other home sales in the area and market has demanded lower prices, making many of these units very affordable. At the time of this post, there are 40 listed condos in Diamondhead on the market with efficiency units starting around $40k and 3 bedroom units just over $100k. New, upscale condos are pre-selling now, starting at $160k.

Diamondhead has a lot of great amenities outside of the individual condo developments and includes two golf courses, tennis courts, lakes, swimming pool, clubhouse, and more. Timber Ridge in Pass Christian MS started off very slow in its original development but then gained serious momentum in the 90’s with prices soaring. A local favorite, and also serving as a weekend getaway to people from New Orleans, Timber Ridge offers a great golf course which I have heard is very challenging for your short game (I am not a golfer), and also everything you would expect from a waterfront community.

Catching crabs or fish from your back yard, taking your boat out to romp around in the St Louis Bay, or just sitting on your back porch staring out over the water, the lifestyle presented can be very rewarding.

Timber Ridge was hit heavy by hurricane Katrina, and in so reduced prices down to a level that many can afford. Although prime, open, waterfront lots still demand a premium, canal lots can be picked up as low as $40,000 with waterfront homes starting in the high $100k range.

South Mississippi is home to to more than 20 golf courses! Many of these courses have been designed by well known course developers such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Davis Love III, Mark McCumber, Tom Fazio, Jerry Pate, and Donald Ross. The Grand Bear, owned and operated by MGM, and Fallen Oak, a semi-private subdivision course, were recently named among the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play 2008-2009”, by Golf Magazine. The Bridges and The Preserve Golf Clubs were each recently honored by Audubon International for having a natural setting deeply entwined with nature.

South Mississippi has several incredible golf course communities to choose from. Incredibly, many of the waterfront courses are very near to Biloxi’s Casino Row and are still able to offer residents a quaint and relaxing community environment just minutes from all the excitement Biloxi has to offer. Gulf Hills Golf Club is located in north Ocean Springs on Back Bay Biloxi only 5 minutes from Casino Row by car or boat. This winding and rolling bay-side golf-course community remains undervalued with home prices starting in the $200’000’s on the golf course. The subdivision of Gulf Hills has excellent investment potential given the outstanding quality of its golf course, near Gulf of Mexico waterfront, proximity to historic-downtown Ocean Springs, and of course how incredibly close it is to Biloxi’s Casino Row and big name entertainment. Another golf course and waterfront community is Ancient Oaks. This popular, established community of Biloxi sits just north of the bay and is home to Sunkist Country Club. It’s a bit further from the action of Casino Row, but sits in the heart of Biloxi near great shopping and the Biloxi Coliseum.

Several other golf course communities are worth mentioning including Shell Landing of Gautier. Shell Landing is absolutely gorgeous and top-notch. It’s a little pricier but worth it! Windance Country Club of Gulfport, owned and operated by Island View Casino, is a wonderful course that plays host to many local and professional tournaments. Another couple of great golf course communities here in south Mississippi are Timber Ridge and The Oaks. Both of these communities have gorgeous courses and homes and are located in Pass Christian. Timber Ridge boasts close to Gulf waterfront properties while The Oaks boasts land encompassed high dollar homes. Diamondhead is a two-golf course community with many extras. The Diamondhead community is a subdivision that’s a city located on the northern edge of St. Louis Bay in Hancock Cournty. It is currently going through the process of becoming a city which will open the door for Diamondhead in many ways including gaming.
