Living on the water is about as serene as it gets. Whether you enjoy sitting on your deck overlooking the waterway and boats, boating, fishing – it does not get much better for most. The Mississippi coast has two beautiful bays, St Louis Bay and Biloxi Bay, and bay front living doesn’t get much better.
There are several advantages to living on the bay.
- You still have open water views with the next shore being far enough away that it does not impede view (great for those that get
overwhelmed with water that goes on seemingly forever) but still with the ability to see the other shore line. - Great fishing! Many fish come in to the bays and estuaries to spawn, giving a very fertile fishing ground.
- Slightly more protection from heavier waves you may experience on the front beach that contribute to erosion
- Bays are typically more protected waters making it more functional to smaller boats or party barges (pontoons)
- Cheaper for land and homes yet still easy access to the open gulf and all the benefits of living on the bay!
Bay front homes range in price and numerous lots are available starting in the $100k range making it very affordable to buy a lot and build your dream home. I have builders that do excellent, quality work starting in the $80’foot range.
